Enrichment

Enrichment — Vital to the Crescent experience

Enrichment experiences are vital to the holistic educational approach of Crescent, not only for students and their families, but for the community as a whole. Crescent provides a wide variety of robust enrichment programming designed to develop and nurture knowledge, skills and individual talents outside of the traditional classroom setting.

Enrichment enables participants to:

  • fortify faith
  • strengthen Muslim identity
  • encourage self-directed learning
  • problem-solve
  • respect diversity
  • form team working skills
  • build leadership skills
  • empower young voices
  • explore new interests
  • cultivate new talents
  • foster creativity
  • increase awareness of issues facing the community

Crescent offers monthly workshops for parents to learn how to best support their children’s education and growth. Additionally, Crescent sponsors workshops for the community on a variety of topics impacting Muslims in today’s world. Examples of past workshops are health and development, mental health, Drugs 101, bullying in schools, and responsible use of social media and video gaming/screen time.

In addition to workshops, special programs are offered in a variety of areas. For example, each year, students in grades 3 through 8 are invited to participate in a competition to design the cover of the annual yearbook -- drawing inspiration from the Crescent community and the school’s yearly theme.

From clubs and workshops to competitive sports and special events, enrichment at Crescent reflects our commitment to educate and strengthen Muslim families spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically, interpersonally, culturally and socially.
