Kindergartners showcase cultural backgrounds
Kindergarten students proudly showcased their cultural and ethnic backgrounds as part of an annual learning activity at Crescent Academy International.

During December and January, each kindergartner had a special day on which they came to school dressed in their cultural clothes, brought meaningful artifacts, and taught other students about their unique family heritage and culture.

On his or her designated day, each student brought a box loaded with items from their culture, or a poster board presentation, to share with classmates. Items shared by the students included family pictures, country flags, pottery, jewelry, clothing, currency, and photos of food, sports and animals of their country.

After each student had their turn, the entire kindergarten class staged a cultural parade. They came to school dressed in their country clothes, with their country flag, and an instrument to play. They visited every class on each floor – walking between students’ desks to the sound of cheers from classmates. Parents joined in to cheer the students in the hallways – adding to the joy and pride felt by these young students.
